D-types come in all shapes and sizes. This blog will cover some of the different d-types that there are. We will be briefly touching on eight types of dominants. Those we will be discussing are: sadistic, classic, daddy/mommy, gentle, primal, master/mistress, findom, and pleasure. Each of these types can be anyone and not limited to a specific sexual identity or orientation.
The first type of dominant we will touch on is a sadistic d-type. This person gets pleasure from inflicting pain to the s-type. This can be mental and/or physical and would be subjective to each s-type. Another type would be a classic d-type. This person likes high protocols used for certain situations. They are knowledgeable in the culture of the community and are often looked upon as mentors.
Then we have the daddy/mommy type of dominant. They tend to be very nurturing. They enjoy the sex but also take enjoyment from the care and teaching of the s-type. There is also a gentle or soft d-type. This person can be seen as a protector. They might seem to be soft-tempered, but when the time calls for them to give a punishment they are capable of doing so when it is deserved.

Primal d-types enjoy the chase or the hunt. They get great enjoyment from pursuing their s-type or prey. Some also like it when the s-type plays into the chase. One of the most common d-type with a title is master or mistress. This d-type wants or has a slave or other s-type that they own. They usually are into TPE (Total Power Exchange). Some are also into living this 24/7 and for them, it is more of a lifestyle.
Another common d-type is the findom, who likes to control the finances of the s-type. There are some findoms who have s-types send them money or buy them gifts. I have seen this type increase over the last couple of years more than any other type. The last d-type we will be discussing is a pleasure d-type. A pleasure d-type gets satisfaction from giving pleasure. Some even take this a step further and enjoy making their s-type have very intense orgasms.
There are other kinds of d-types out there. The ones discussed here have other characteristics that we did not touch on, and not all characteristics are present in each person. I am a switch, but when I am the d-type I am very much a pleasure d-type. I enjoy seeing the other person(s) enjoying themselves and I want to make them feel all the pleasures they want to consent to.
